it's official, i have baby brain

[enter mom] i had heard from many moms that baby brain does indeed happen starting from as early as month 8 in pregnancy. i actually felt pretty on top of things while i was pregnant, but my brain has quickly gone down hill since olivia came into the world. just to give you an idea of what my life is like these days, here are some examples of my "baby brain":

• deposited a check without endorsing it
• misplaced all christmas present receipts (including gift receipts)
• made up a new word - logisticize
• left the house without my purse/diaper bag and had to turn around to go back and get it
• called mike "mom"
• baked the banana bread at 400, when it should be 325 (and i have used this recipe at least 7 times this year)
• forgot where i parked my car after a trip to the movies
• forgot a very good friend's name during an introduction
  

those are just the ones i can remember. i am sure there are many more that i am forgetting. i've always prided myself in my ability to remember things, but i seem to have crossed the plateau into motherhood where things like baby brain happen. i guess i better just suck it up and accept it for now.
